UBS STOCKBROKER MISCONDUCT

UBS (UBS Paine Webber, formerly) is another huge financial firm, from Switzerland. UBS is the Union Bank of Switzerland, one of the two leading Swiss banks, dating back to times before the U.S. Revolutionary War.

UBS has been the subject of severe US prosecution due to its advice to intentionally evade U.S. taxes and other improper strategies.

UBS did buy what had been Paine Webber which was a very large and regarded firm. Paine Webber’s name was dropped more than ten years ago, although it is still remembered by many of its older customers. Kidder Peabody is another firm that was merged into the Paine Webber name, which wound up under UBS.

Today, UBS is an especially large firm in wealthy, urban areas with a focus on selling advice to the wealthiest customers.
