According to public records provided by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on March 10, 2016, Portland, Maine located Raymond James & Associates broker financial adviser David Mitchell has been suspended by FINRA. According to his BrokerCheck report, David Mitchell is the subject of one denied customer complaint and one regulatory sanction.

In January 2016 FINRA suspended David Mitchell following allegations that “ . . . he altered customer contact information maintained in the firm’s books and records for at least nine of his customer accounts and caused the firm’s books and records to be inaccurate.” According to FINRA’s complaint, Mr. Mitchell accessed firm computer records to alter customer information and was “driven by a desire to delay his firm’s competing registered persons from contacting his customers, with the hope of persuading these customers to move their accounts to his new firm.” He was issued a $5,000 fine and a 30-day suspension from the securities industry.

In 2010, a customer said that David Mitchell, while at Citigroup Global Markets, failed to disclose risks associated with investments. The customer sought $63,326 in damages in the complaint, which was denied.
